Partner Foundations
The Graduate Institute has forged close relationships with several foundations whose statutes explicitly refer to the Graduate Institute for the realisation of joint objectives and who provide a support that is very much appreciated.
The International Centre for Monetary and Banking Studies (ICMB)
The International Center for Monetary and Banking Studies aims at facilitating the exchange of ideas, information and research in the fields of international money, banking and finance. Its characteristic is to bring together leaders from three fields: central bankers, private bankers and academics.
Its main activities are to organise public lectures and a yearly international conference. The ICMB is led by Ugo Panizza, professor at the Graduate Institute.
Paul and Thomas Guggenheim Foundations
The Paul Guggenheim Foundation awards a prize to an author who has produced a first piece of work in the field of international public law that distinguishes itself by its importance and quality.
The Thomas Guggenheim Foundation is dedicated to supporting the history of economic thought, through the organisation of a biennial international symposium. It also awards a prize intended to reward an exceptional piece of work, or an exceptional body of work in this field.
Pierre du Bois Foundation for Contemporary History
The Pierre du Bois Foundation seeks to encourage research into contemporary history. It offers study scholarships, provides grants for research and publications, and awards the Pierre du Bois Prize for the best thesis in international history defended at the Graduate Institute during the current year.
The foundation was created to honour the memory of Pierre du Bois, a former professor at the Graduate Institute, who passed away suddenly in June 2007.

Pictet Foundation for Development
The Pictet Foundation for Development was created by Mr. Ivan Pictet with a capital of CHF 25 million to fund the establishment at the Graduate Institute of a centre for research on finance and development.
The Centre for Finance and Development has allowed the Graduate Institute to consolidate its expertise at the crossroads of international finance, development economics and financial history and to raise the profile of a field with a promising future.
